Pelosi’s 2022 visit to Taiwan violated the Shanghai Communique, a diplomatic agreement about US non-interference standing since 1972. Since last year’s visit, U.S.-China relations have tensed dangerously. In the last week alone, military weapons packages and sales from the US to Taiwan are accelerating, creating a powder keg out of Taiwan. Biden’s even proposing using the same military budget allotted to US forces in Ukraine.
